Beyonce was hailed as the World’s Most Beautiful Woman by People magazine. For the cover of PEOPL E World’s Most Beautiful Woman, Beyonce wore a white Marchesa gown. She accessorized it with Lorraine Schwartz turquoise necklace that Heidi Klum wore last 2012 Golden Globes. Who wore it better? Beyonce or Heidi Klum?

Filippa Hamilton Was Fired by Ralph Lauren For Being "Too Fat"

model,filippa hamilton,ralph lauren
Just a few weeks ago, the controversial Ralph Lauren ad stormed the internet. The ad pictured a digitally-edited body of Filippa Hamilton. Ralph Lauren tried to sue the sites who released the photo over the internet but they were not successful. As a result, the public were outraged with "too-thin" model principle by the said brand.

To escape from this bad publicity, Ralph Lauren made a public apology, stressing their responsibility of releasing artworks that represents their company at its best. They also assured the public that they will be addressing the problem.

However, reports said that Ralph Lauren had fired Filippa Hamilton because of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract according to the brand. This statement was different from Filippa Hamilton's. She revealed that she was fired because she was too fat for them.

Here is the video of Filippa Hamilton as she discussed how Ralph Lauren fired her. Be the judge and tell me if she is too fat to be a model?

Well, here are my thoughts about this big fashion buzz. Filippa is 5'10" and weighs 120. I don't think that she is fat because if she is then I will be considered as overweight.

Lady Gaga's Controversial Bubble Dress

The very first thing that I noticed about Lady Gaga, was her out-of-this-world fashion statement. Of all those bold outfits, her bubble dress made a loud noise in the fashion gossip columns. The bubble dress she wore on her Fame Ball tour was said to be a replica from Hussein Chalayan's Spring 2007 Runway collection.

Fashion War: Michelle Obama vs. Cindy McCain

In just a few hours, American people will go out of their houses and vote for the president who will lead them out of the economic recession problems. While waiting for the results of November 2008 US Presidential Elections, let's shift our minds to a subtle political war. Forget their husbands for a while, a focus on the two candidates for potential First Lady, Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain.

If you're some kind of fashion-style-watcher, then you already knew that the fashion press and news media have been scrutinizing the outfits worn by the two ladies during their respective national party conventions and speeches. According to ABC News, not since a fresh-faced Jackie Kennedy entered the White House has so much attention been paid to a potential first lady's fashions. But now, Obama's style as well as McCain's style sense were garnering as much attention as their political views.

Both women are smart, fit and accomplished. Neither lacks fashion sense. Who you will in this political fashion war?

Casual Wear

Cindy McCain loves to wear suits for public appearances, but sometimes she let people know that she can go casual in a long-sleeved, dark pink sweater and white pants with a white watch.

On the other hand, Michelle Obama opted for a casual attire when speaking during campaign rallies. She wore clothing with a neutral color palette, opting for a white sleeveless blouse with tan pants and accessorizing with a light green double strand beaded necklace.

Suits

Suits are Cindy McCain's signature style. She appears comfortable and at ease when wearing them. She favors St. John, the high-end brand that are made from a wool/rayon knit fabric.

For a suit, Unlike Cindy McCain, Michelle Obama is more likely to be seen in a dress or pants than a suit. When she wore one, she favors strong and bold colors, and those colors makes up her signature style.

Belted Dresses

Cindy McCain wears a short-sleeved belted dress and her hairdo here isn't her usual tightly pulled-back style that sometimes draws criticism.

Michelle Obama wears a purple Maria Pinto dress cinched with a black Azzedine Alaïa belt at her husband's final primary victory rally.

Michelle Obama often wears sleeveless garments while Cindy McCain seldom goes sleeveless. Both McCain and Obama favor pearls and wear them often.

Fashion War: Gossip Girl vs 90210

The war between Gossip Girls and 90210 girls began in CW television network. Then the war continues with the magazine covers. First, Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen along with the boys were on a sexy cover of New York Magazine which declares Gossip Girl as the "Best Show Ever".

This September, Nylon mag features 90210’s Shenae Grimes, AnnaLynne McCord and Jessica Stroup in the cover with a warning: 90210 is Back!

Will the newbies out do S and B? We all know that they were all fashionable but who will be the most fashion-forward? The curvy girls of GG or the the too thin starlets of 90210?

Fashion War: PETA vs. Burberry

Help the Fur Avengers fight Burberry! Play the game now.

Burberry is not only famous for its distinctive plaid but it is also known that the design house is using real fur. With this issue, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is having a campaign against the fashion house. The "Bloody Burberry" campaign aims to let the Burberry pledge to stop supporting cruelty to animals and adopts a permanent fur-free policy.

PETA advises their supporters to boycott the chain and convince other people to do the same. They also created disturbing posters of models wearing Burberry products with dead and skin-peeled animals (minks, raccoons, and foxes).

A flash game was also created in relation to the said campaign. It allows the user to choose his or her preferred avenger who will make way into Burberry Headquarters and paint as many furs as you can.

According to PETA:
Burberry continues to use fur in its designs despite the fact that leading clothing retailers like J.Crew, Ann Taylor, Polo Ralph Lauren, and others have pulled fur from their stores forever.

Animals on fur farms spend their entire lives confined to cramped, filthy wire cages, where they are exposed to all weather conditions. They often go without adequate shelter, clean water, and veterinary care, and they are denied the opportunity to engage in natural behaviors like climbing, burrowing, and swimming. The intensive confinement causes many of them to go insane.

Fur farmers use the cheapest and cruelest killing methods available, including suffocation, electrocution, gassing, and poisoning. Many animals are electrocuted by having rods inserted into their rectums and 240 volts sent through their bodies. The animals convulse, shake, and often cry out before they have heart attacks and die. Crude killing methods aren't always effective, and sometimes animals "wake up" while they are being skinned.

Burberry knows about the suffering that goes into every fur-trimmed coat, hat, and bag, yet the company continues to use fur in its designs. With so many fashionable, comfortable alternatives available, there is no excuse for Burberry to continue using dead, tortured animals in its designs.

Fashion War: PETA vs. DKNY and Vogue

The war, or shall I say the drama, between the fashion industry and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) still continues. Despite the fact that Donna Karan has promised to stop using fur in her designs in the past, PETA has learned that she continues to use and sell fur. PETA has asked Karan to join other top designers and retailers including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, and others who have already adopted permanent fur-free policies. To show that they are sincere with there campaign against DKNY, some of the PETA activists jumped into the runway flashing signs that says, "Donna: Dump Fur" near the end of the DKNY show for New York Fashion Week.

The Security immediately escorted the small group off the catwalk who continued the protest outside the show's tent with a bigger crowd dressed as animals covered in blood. They shouted: “Stop the insanity! No blood for vanity!” and “D-K-N-Y! How many animals have to die!”

It can be recalled that PETA was also angered by Vogue Paris when the magazine features Daria Werbowy wearing a fur coat in the cover for their August 2008 issue. Worst, the magazine also included images a fur-laden Raquel Zimmermann who flips the PETA protester with a sign that says, "Fur is Dead".

For sure, tons of tofu pies will be smacking on the faces of the fur-lover individuals. Just like what happened to Anna Wintour last 2005.
