At a premiere party last night for Madonna's heroically bad fabulous new movie W.E,, a backup dancers [sic] was overheard boasting that the singer would be "bringing gay to the Super Bowl" when she performs during the halftime show next week.
Newsflash to Ray Gustini and Pop Culture enthusiasts: Madonna has brought GAY everywhere she's gone since 1983. Long before it was acceptable, fashionable and even a prerequisite. Madonna single handedly implemented GAY into the pop cultural blue print. It wasn't Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Debbie Harry, Elton John, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Donna Summer, Irene Cara, Prince, Laura Branigan, Pat Benatar, Cyndi Lauper, Michael or Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul - DO YOU WANT ME TO CONTINUE?
