castillo del lago - madonna's old home - up for sale

HOLLYWOOD -- It's probably not the right economic climate to bring this up, but if you should happen to have an extra $15 million lying around then you, too, can own the Hollywood Hills estate once occupied by Madonna.

Castillo Del Lago -- the dramatic, Hollywood sign-adjacent, Mediterranean manse -- has been put up for sale by current owner, famed commercial director/restaurateur Joe Pytka, for a cool $14,950,000.

The nine-bedroom, six-bathroom estate, located on a three-acre hilltop, boasts 25-foot beamed ceilings, a wine cellar, media room, gym (natch), elevator, courtyards, rose gardens, fountains and a lap pool.

But even more impressive is the fact that Pytka, who also directed several Michael Jackson videos, bought the place last summer for $5.3 million.

Madge originally plunked down $5 mil back in 1993.

French and Saunders love madonna - BAFTA Fellowship 2009

Fresh from receiving their Bafta Fellowship Award to honour their 30 year partnership, the pair revealed backstage that Madonna was the only star who never agreed to feature in one of their sketches.

"It's her loss, that's the way we've looked at it," said French.

Jennifer joked: "We never used to like doing the show unless we'd actually had a 'no' from Madonna, so we used to insist that they ask her anyway to torture her."

"Although we're great admirers, of course," French added.

Halston Boots is the Summer Boots

As I was having may daily dose of blog/website reading, I came across the new Halston Boots. Usually, I am not a boot-fan but after I've seen theses knee-high and calf-skimming boots in black, fuchsia suede and metallic bronze colors, suddenly I fell in love with them. I should also mention their gorgeous stiletto heels!

As you can see, these boots are like gladiator sandals. It aims to give you a chic and sleek look while enjoying the summer air with its cute cut outs.

Madonna topped Forbes' list of Hollywood's hardest working mothers

NEW YORK (Reuters) – With earnings of $110 million in 2008, Madonna topped Forbes' list of Hollywood's hardest working mothers, followed by actresses Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The pop singer and mother of three, who was recently turned down in her bid to adopt a second child from Malawi, grossed $105 million on her tour and sold nearly a million albums in the United States. Madonna also signed several lucrative endorsement deals last year, according to Forbes.com.
"She had an incredible year in 2008," said Lauren Streib who helped to compile the list that was released on Friday.
"She had the top tour of any musician...The tour sold out around the world. So it wasn't surprising as much as it is a commentary on how successful her year was," she said.

Madonna 1996 Oprah Evita Interview Outtakes

Marc Jacobs to Bring Courtney Love and Madonna to the Met Gala?

We've just heard from a very reliable source that Marc Jacobs is bringing Courtney Love and Madonna to the Met Ball, which means he will have the best table in the history of tables. Remember how amazing it was when Courtney crashed Madonna's interview with Kurt Loder at the 1995 Video Music Awards? It's like that all over again, except Marc will stand between them instead of Kurt! Diva fashion overload — someone fetch us a fan. (Plus, we hear Marc's fiancĆ©, Lorenzo Martone, is sort of friendly with Madonna's man candy Jesus Luz, so that could make for a cute photo op, too.) The nineties are so back. We hope they all wear neon and bring highlighters to color on the tablecloths.

rosie on madonna from justjared.com

JJ: What was your favorite Madonna concert?

RO: The last one - I thought it was unbelievable. It was like watching an Olympic event! The fact that she’s 50-years-old and able to look like that and do that, and I remember thinking, oh now is when she’s going to get a costume change, and she wasn’t! She was kept going and going and going and going…and it’s stunning to think of that kind of energy and discipline that she has and is able to continue for years and years.

I think she’s absolutely…one of the best entertainers that has ever lived.
